These photographs were taken at a Orangutan orphanage and rehabilitation center managed by a resort hotel in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. I have since found out that this so called orphanage was not well run and it was just a tourist drawcard, the Orangutans have now been sent to Sepilok where they have the freedom to come and go in a sanctuary. Had I known this at the time in 2014 when I was taking these photos I would never had patronised the facility.

Orangutans are quickly becoming endangered due to deforestation in Indonesia.
